GDScript

A high-level, Python-like programming language built specifically for Godot. Students write raw code to control character movement, logic, and physics.

Itch.io logo

Itch.io

A popular indie game hosting platform. Students will learn the real-world digital publishing process by exporting their final playable video games and launching them live to the public on their own developer accounts.

The Learning Path

Three modules.A published 2D game at the end.

From your first Godot node to a playable 2D game published live on Itch.io.

Module 01

Game Design & Node Systems

Dive into the Godot Engine. Master the Node system and write your first GDScript functions to move and animate a 2D character using coordinates and vectors.

Module 02

Physics, Environments & Logic

Build the world! Program infinite Parallax backgrounds, apply physical forces like gravity, and use Area2D nodes to detect collisions between the player and obstacles.

Module 03

Game Flow & Indie Publishing

Finalize the game loop. Use arrays and randomization to spawn objects, code Game Over screens, and export your game to publish it live to the web.

Skills Gained

More than just code.

Every graduate leaves with applied game development skills, logical thinking, and the soft skills to ship and present their work like a real indie developer.

Technical Skills

Godot Node System

Structure 2D scenes using Godot's professional Node and Scene hierarchy.

GDScript Programming

Write raw GDScript code to control character movement, logic, and gameplay.

Physics & Collisions

Implement rigid bodies, gravity, friction, and collision shapes for realistic interactions.

Parallax Environments

Build infinite scrolling Parallax backgrounds that bring 2D worlds to life.

Soft Skills

Game Design Process

Think like a game designer, from concept and mechanics to a polished playable build.

Logical Structuring

Break complex game features into clear, organized blocks of logic and scenes.

Algorithmic Debugging

Read errors, trace logic step-by-step, and fix bugs the way real developers do.

Digital Publishing

Learn the real-world workflow of exporting and shipping software to a live audience.

The Final

The Graduation ProjectRoyal Run

By the end of this course, every student builds, exports, and proudly publishes a fully playable 2D game to their own Itch.io developer account.

Squirrel in Jungle Endless Runner

Students deploy their GDScript skills to build a highly engaging endless runner game, featuring real-time collision detection, infinite scrolling backgrounds, and a dynamic score tracker.

  • Real-Time Collisions: Detect obstacles and reward pickups using Area2D nodes.
  • Infinite Parallax World: Build layered scrolling backgrounds that feel limitless.
  • Dynamic Score Tracker: Code a live UI that rewards skill and reaction time.

Itch.io Launch & Pitch

Step into the indie game industry. Students export their final build, publish it live to an Itch.io developer account, and present their game to their parents.

  • Itch.io Publishing: Export the web build and ship it live on a real developer account.
  • Parent Showcase: Walk an audience through your game's mechanics and code journey.
Module 2 : Pixel Heroes

Build 2D GameUsing Godot.

Advance into dynamic 2D game development. Students build on their Godot foundation by coding complex mechanics like multi-directional shooting, enemy spawners, damage systems, and dynamic platforming. They will conceptualize their own game using AI and publish their polished project to Itch.io.
